Plan apropriate material for a soundtrack for a moving image
The task was to create a soundtrack for documentary horror trailer. This had to be located in a school, inorder to do this task I had to make sure that I had the reuired equipment before doing all of this such as camera, tripod, macs, garageband and have an idea of music soundtrack and material that was needed. THis would be aimed at 15 to 19 year old
Identify the material required
As you can see below I have created a timeline of which soundtrack I would putting onto my horror trailer like for example I wanted to put dialogue into my horror trailer which then followed on by having a silence. This is because I think it would create a reaction. I split my soundtrack into times so that after a certain time there would be a soundtrack of some kind. This could be anything from dialogue to sound affects. Also while planning put before putting the soundtrack in saves time so that you wont need to forget on anything. Most horror trailer are planned before making espically professional one so haveing a planned out timeline puts you ahead of time. Plus doing this means that you know where to out the music, voice over and wild track into the horror trailer. Also it knowing where to put your sound track means that you can make a dramatic horror trailer.

Identify the required technology/personnel
The equipment I will need is a mini HD Camera,Tripod, MAC,IMovie,Itunes,Garageband,camera charger,computer connector wide and surfaces.The required technology I will needs is the recording studio so that I can record the sound for my horror trailer. This would be such as voice over and dialogue. Also I would needs a mac to edit my sound material on as well esiting the visual material. Also makeing the actuall horror trailer and putting the affects on and makeing sure its affective is what you use the mac for. I would also need a camera to record some of the sound such as thudding footstep and slamming the door shut. This so that the sound is all mine and there is not copyright involved and its all unique. Plus its an requirement to have all the soundtrack made by myself. So recording my sounds was an requirement and I made sure that this was done.I would need the help of Alex my team member to be part of the horror trailer and Sarah who is going to filming the trailer as well andJessica as the music student to help with us in the recordin studio recording our sound affectts since we didnt have the right for it lilke she has. how is
Voiceover plans and issue
for my voice I realised that I wanted to use a female voice because I felt it would be well suited for her voices. Also I felt a Males voice just wouldn't be right for the horror trailer. The person who is doing my voice over has lots of experience as she did for several years so we know that her performance is good. Also her voice over had the right texture of scariness as she was quiet but was creating tension in her voice. Her voice had the right tone andshe is someone at the right age. Jessica helped record her voice as she has knowledge in how to use the recording studion and is very talented.
What is the USP (Unique Selling Point) for my soundtrack
The unique selling point for my horror trailer is that this is for specifically targeted at student, The reasoning for this is that statistic shows that student watch more horror trailer than anyone else. Also of the use of typical sound elements such as heartbeat and scream's and many more. These sounds are being design to create tension, fear, shock feel. These are what the student's crave for in a horror trailer. However if the target audience of the horror trailer changes then I would have to consider having an appropriate sound track for them.
My horror trailer has not been made before so this shows its originality and its unique selling point. I have created the sound on my own with my own script. I have made sure that I considered the legal and ethical before making the sound or downloading the sound.The USP of the horror trailer is that it identify's the audience the genre of horror which also the visual had helped with that.
Source the required material
My Voice over at the end of trailer to identify the programme. Its telling who stars in the trailer and that its coming soon to your nearest cinema.
A suspense to create an unsettling effect to the audience/ The sound is eerie and is making the people give an uncomfortable feeling
A warning sound to create an impact of the audience of danger in the trailer. This is giving coherence between shots in the trailer.
Another major sound element of danger in trailer. This is giving an unsettling affect to the audience. Its itenditfying the prgramme if horror as it is giving an horror affect.
An heartbeat to give an unsettling affect to the audience to start of with. Its starting to give an eerie effect of what is come up in the trailer,
This is the script of the dialogue I would put into my soundtrack. I will be recording the soundtrack into the recording studio to put onto my horror trailer. I had to make sure I scripted what I was going to say so that I knew what to say and wouldn't loos focus. Also its good planning the script of the horror trailer.
I had also made storyboards with the reuied music which will be going into my sound horror trailer. However I put this with my sotry board because I thought it be better to have a visual layout of where the sound go. Alex had storyboard the first one, I had story board the second one and Sarah had storyboard the third one. Alll of these storyboard was for our moving image. We all put soundaffects on our scene but with the other the other people made in our group we made sure that it was all our idea. Its just gave help for finding a visal image for our apropriate soundtrack/ For example for my soundtrack I thought the close up shot of rebecca shout have a sting sound affect to create emtion of fear and it would give cohearence between shots. I also put heartbeat in the horror trailer to show fear and it will explain of building tension as well with having silence in the horror trailer as well.
Legal and Ethical -
SInce I was making a soundtrack for my horror trailer, I had to consider the legal and ethical issues because professional products have to consider these issue and if they dont onsider they could go to prision. So I had to make sure that I did have the required material without doing something that is not right. I got my soundtrack from dowloading affects in free sound www.freesound.org. This allows me to get my soundtrack from and put it straight to my sound affect without affecting any laws. It had many sound available such as high pitch screeming, or heartbeat. THese are some of the sound I had used but I also had to create my own which I had such as loud banging footstep and doors shutting hard. These are all sound affects which would create emtion and create attention. ALso the material we created for soundtrack we made sure that copyright wasn't issues. Also all the music was created in garage band so that we can create our own soundtrack without copying anyone else's]
The certificate fo the horror trailer would be rated 13 as the sound could create a unsettling feeling and it wouldn't be appropriate for someone ahed 13 to hear the sound as it could have massive impact of the than a 13 years old. It may not have a scared feeling for someone who is aged 18 but is definitely not required for someone who is aged 13/
Copyright is a legal contract which is created by the government which is giving to the person of the organisation work which there have all right, which is a for a limited time. For music copy right means taking someone else'a music without their permission. For a professional product they would have to sign a copy right if they would taking someone else material. For example if i use a soundtrack of a scary movie and I didn;t sign a copy right than I could be sued for taking someone else's soundtrack. That;s why its imporatnt to sign a copyright before making a trailer.
Booking the required technology/personal
Before the recording studio to record the soundtrack for our video we had to book ourselves in the recording studio before we can start recording. This is because other people have other times on the recording studiio and we cant use it when they are. Also for making the horror trailer it self we had to books the camera so that we can use it. Afterwards we had to book the macs so that we can edit the horror trailer and put it onto blogger. This is a screen of my group booking the recording studio. We also had to make sure that we had the script's before booking the studio.

This screen of the close up shot of Alex in the horror trailer had a sound of heart beat which come to give an unsettling feeling to the audience. This would give the feel of being scared and would create an emtion to the audience. Its making the uaidnce an unsettling feeling, a feeling of being scared. Its a reaction where do you want someone to do something but they.
This give a high pitch sting since its crating shockness to find out that the girl he did is a ghost. It explains the action of him bring scared and shock to find out that she is here. THe stng is shown the empaphasize how scared he is and show him affectness of he had done. Its hauting and it identify the programme of a horror trailer because other films wouldn't have this kind of sound.
